Buttermilk Biscuits (grain-free, dairy-free, Paleo, AIP)

Buttermilk Biscuits (grain-free, dairy-free, Paleo, AIP)

Biscuits were one of my favorite foods growing up in Georgia. I had a hankering for authentic buttermilk biscuits the other day, so I set to experimenting with my cassava flour and created the perfect dairy-free, grain-free biscuit that is not only Paleo but also AIP. Enjoy!

Southern Style Paleo Biscuits + Everyday Grain-Free Baking

Southern Style Paleo Biscuits + Everyday Grain-Free Baking

It's totally natural for us to crave non-paleo foods that used to be staples, especially the made-from-scratch-and-lots-of-love, culturally-relevant recipes. Southern-style biscuits are a perfect example - one that I've missed dearly since going paleo 5 years ago. Thanks to Kelly at The Nourishing Home, authentic Southern-style biscuits are back on the menu for me again! Check out this recipe from her cookbook Everyday Grain-Free Baking and get a sneak peek inside this gem of a book!

Autoimmune Paleo Savory Breakfast Cookies (aka flattened biscuits)

Autoimmune Paleo Savory Breakfast Cookies (aka flattened biscuits)

Sometimes kitchen failures turn into great recipes. I've tried and tried to come up with an egg-free, autoimmune paleo biscuit, but, no matter what I do, they don't rise. They've all come out flat as pancakes! Thus, Savory Breakfast Cookies were born. Even though they don't look like a biscuit, they taste like one, and they make the perfect AIP savory breakfast bread!
